Van Genechten Packaging expands into new markets

In line with the strategy to enhance customer value for the European FMCG industry, Van Genechten Packaging has acquired 50% of AS Kvadra Pak, the leading packaging company in the Baltics, located in Riga. The current shareholder remains for the other 50%.

Kvadra Pak employs approximately 120 people and converts more than 5.000 tons of paper and cartonboard per annum on two offset printing lines servicing mainly international and regional customers in the Baltics, Scandinavia, Russia, Poland and the former Soviet Union states. It offers the full range of folding cartons, from highly sophisticated for confectionery and cosmetics to standard cartons for food and non food markets.

The acquisition of a stake in this well-known packaging company is a perfect fit for Van Genechten Packaging not only from a strategic point of view but also in terms of geographic reach in order to serve its customers competitive, perfect & now.

The closing of the transaction is subject to specific conditions precedent.

Van Genechten Packaging is a group of nine folding carton factories in six countries, which serves the European consumer goods industry with cardboard boxes and microwave- packaging and packaging systems.  This spans from large numbers of copies for the mass market to superior folding cartons for the premium market, such as high-quality spirits, confectionery and cosmetics.

Other priorities of the group are VG automation and VG extrusion, which offer customised solutions for packaging machines and a broad range of barrier laminations both on the open market as well as within the group.
