Van Genechten Packaging moves to low migration inks & varnishes Van Genechten Packaging (VGP), one of the leading folding carton groups with 9 sites in Europe, will move all of their factories to low migration inks and varnishes. As a folding carton converter that is specialising in direct food contact packaging, VGP is aware of their responsibility with regards to the consumer, the customers and their brands. Over the course of the last year, VGP has analysed the entire production process with regards to potential migration risks and have asked the well reputed Fraunhofer Institute (FIVV) in Munich to audit this process. As a consequence, VGP has decided to move all print jobs to low migration inks and varnishes. Food safety does not allow for compromises. Together with the Fraunhofer Institute, VGP now introduces as the first packaging company the Food Compliant Packaging Certificate which they offer to their customers. This certificate stands for:
