"Sustainable Innovation": Van Genechten Packaging creates lasting success for brand-name companies.
With its topic "promoting brands through sustainable packaging", the 8th “Pro Carton” lays focus on one of the key issues for the economic success of the packaging industry at the moment as well as in the future.
Van Genechten Packaging N.V., Europe's largest independent folding carton manufacturer and leader of technology in the packaging market, places the link between sustainability and innovation at its prime focus for years. Through a holistic development and manufacturing approach that systematically includes all sectors of the value chain, Van Genechten Packaging considerably contributes to long-term improvement and maintenance of the competitive advantages of brand-name companies through efficient and effective packaging.
Also in the year 2009, Van Genechten Packaging laid emphasis on increased activity in the R & D area. To develop further the technological advantage of the company in all major packaging markets, three “Centres of Excellence” were created in Turnhout, Kempten and Lyon as part of an organizational realignment. By specializing in certain categories, these new centres of excellence provide brand-name manufacturers with specific knowhow and complete services starting from the concept to finished product.
"We want to provide our customers with the best possible packaging solution for their product now as well as in the future. Therefore, we expect our folding cartons to have the same brand quality as the consumer: attractive design, high quality presentations, convincing feature and an excellent environmental record ", says Asmus Wolff, Vice President, Supply Chain & Innovation of Van Genechten Packaging on the claim behind the innovation process.
Van Genechten Packaging - Record winner at the Pro Carton ECMA Awards
13 Pro Carton ECMA awards in 13 years - this is the proud record of Van Genechten Packaging at the renowned international competition for outstanding sales cardboard packaging, which is awarded since 1997 by Pro Carton and the European Cardboard Makers Association (ECMA).
After winning in the newly established category of "sustainability" in the past year, Van Genechten Packaging went on to even become a double winner in the ‘Night of packaging’ as well in 2009. The jury awarded a luxury packaging for Cognac de luze as well as a new multipack for Duracell. Both boxes impressed the judges with high functionality, excellent design and economical use of materials.
For Van Genechten Packaging, these awards are confirming the continuous efforts for our customers. "We are so very proud of our award-winning packaging, because there is a real market success for our customers behind each individual" says Andreas Helbig, Vice President Sales & Marketing.
