Group Safety & Environmental Manager (m/f)

Your function:

  • Your main role is to develop, implement, and secure the integrated safety and environmental policies and procedures for the company
  • You are the driver in the process to bring safety and environmental performance to a higher level. Your felt leadership approach is essential to execute the improvement projects in a best way to build a solid safety culture
  • You organize, lead and assist with internal and external audits. You review the reports, prepare and follow-up on the action plans
  • You organize and give training in consultation with the different plants/departments
  • You manage the relevant KPI’s and report the performances and projects progress
  • You make sure processes of Root Cause Analysis (e.g Why-Tree), Tasks Risks Analysis, Work Place Assessments, … are a common good practice and are properly executed when necessary
  • You safeguard the organization in compliance with the applicable safety and environmental regulations
  • You coach and work intensively with the local Safety & Environmental Managers and Plant Managers of the different factories and are willing to travel around 25% of your time
  • You report to the Director QSHE & Manufacturing Excellence

Your profile:

  • You have a technical background with a Master degree in science and/or engineering
  • You have 10 to 15 years of work experience in the domain of Safety & Environment in an international industrial manufacturing context
  • You have sound knowledge of safety and environmental global good practices and norms/standards, and you have a good understanding of quality systems
  • You are familiar with Lean principles (Kaizen, 5S, …) and Project Management
  • You feel great when being on the factory shop floor and you have outstanding observation ability. You like interacting with colleagues from different operational departments
  • You have good coaching, influencing, presentation and communication skills
  • You have a natural high safety awareness and ‘lead by example’ – safety is in your DNA
  • You are an enthusiastic and results driven person
  • You demonstrate a pragmatic and hands-on work style to get things done
  • You are fluent in English; any other language is a plus
