LatviaStar Grand Prix for VG Kvadra Pak
LatviaStar Grand Prix for VG Kvadra Pak
maximum score a premiere in award history
21 November 2017 - Turnhout
| The Riga-based folding carton packaging specialist VG Kvadra Pak has
been awarded the Grand Prix at the prestigious annual LatviaStar 2017
packaging contest for its LIQ gift box series. The company has won with
the maximum score, a first in the history of the national packaging
award.
A milestone
2017
turns out to be one of the most successful years for VG Kvadra Pak in terms
of recognition: with the Grand Prix, 1 extra award and several
shortlist nominations in different categories, the work of the Latvian
division of the Van Genechten Packaging Group has never been given so
much credit during one contest.
Moreover, they have won the Grand Prix with the maximum score, a premiere in the national award’s history.
The
winning packaging was the LIQ gift box series, a stylish and elegant
gift set that successfully creates a seamless premium brand experience.
Once opened, its 4 precious liquorice sweets come in separate boxes with
perfect finishing, soft touch and UV varnish for an exquisite but
natural, matted look. Double layers and an automatic bottom technique
make sure no white unprinted parts become visible.
As a
result of the win, the LIQ gift box series will compete for the
WorldStar title in 2018, organized by the WorldStar Packaging
Organisation. Earlier this year this creative packaging already won the
prestigious European Carton Excellence Award.
More awards and nominations
Along
with the Grand Prix VG Kvadra Pak took home one more award in its
impressive sweep: 1st place for the Freia series. Other shortlist
nominations included 2nd places for the Orkla Confectionery & Snacks Latvia Gourmet series and Orkla Confectionery & Snacks Latvia Maigums boxes.
For
precise compliance with the Global Traceability Criteria for Food
(GS1), ISO standards and bar code solution requirements, several designs
were acknowledged as perfect examples: the Halva LIQ gift boxes, Orkla Confectionery & Snacks Latvia Maigums boxes and Smiltenes Piens Cheese cake box.
And, finally, the Latvian Packaging Association also recognized the Kalev Kannel box, Smiltenes Piens Cheese cake and Fazer sweets series as work of exceptional quality.
Growing demand for innovative packaging
If
these awards make one thing clear, it is there is a growing demand for
innovative packaging solutions that offer unique functional qualities
and make actual brand identity and consumer experience happen.
