Impressive result for VG Kvadra Pak in a wide range of various nominations at the national “Best packaging in Latvia” ceremony in Riga on November 24th. Amongst the rewarded designs two special mentions: 1st prize within the category Confectionery for “Kalev Gold Collection” and 1st prize within the category Non-Food for “Käthe Kruse toy boxes”.
This year’s contesting designs clearly confirmed 3 ongoing trends: packaging reusability, optimization of transport properties and the usage of sustainable materials.
Packaging for Confectionery
1st prize - packaging series KALEV Gold Collection & Diploma for exact design and deployment of GS1 and ISO standards
An exclusive range of chocolate packaging designs. Covered with gold and red foil; some particular details are highlighted with UV-varnish and an embossed pattern.
An elegant design of packaging creations that attracts the attention of the consumer and creates a sense of celebration.
3rd prize - Laima Christmas house & Certificate Latvia University of Agriculture
This design can be unfolded in the middle as often as playing children want to, and yet it is made in one single piece of carton board. The creative, innovative use of standard techniques resulted in a fantastic folding carton which can be produced on normal machines.
3rd prize - Nestlé Nesquick Gift box
In close collaboration with our Customer Nestlé Russia, we created an innovative design emphasizing brand value through 3D effects on the front panel. In combination with a dynamic graphic design, this packaging really stands out on the shelf, increases brand recognition and attracts the eye of the consumer.
Packaging for Alcoholic Beverages
2nd prize - Series of Stolichnaya vodka boxes
In cooperation between Latvijas Balzāms and VG Kvadra Pak. Two-sided printing and the usage of 4 pantone colour which refer to the Latvian flag. The entire surface of the box is embossed, resulting in a magnificent micro embossing effect. The embossing and debossing effects create an impression of sleeve presence. The Stolichnaya vodka logo is elegantly highlighted through the usage of foil at all sides of the box.
2nd prize - A. le Coq 3 pack & Diploma for exact design and deployment of GS1 and ISO standards
Our customer A. le Coq - the oldest beverage manufacturer in Estonia – were looking for an innovative packaging solution for their beer cans “Brewers collection”. To highlight the uniqueness of the product we created a non-standard three-pack.
Packaging for Non-Food products
1st prize – Käthe Kruse toy boxes
For Käthe Kruse VG Kvadra Pak developed a gift series consisting of 3 boxes with different sizes. The design of the packages is quite classic, however it presents various special effects, e.g. a unique tactile sensation caused by a combination of drip-off technology and UV varnish. The feeling of package exclusivity is caused by using embossing and golden foil. Only certified raw materials, approved as children safe, have been used during the manufacturing process.
3rd prize - Mikrotīkls Gift box
VG Kvadra Pak optimized the former micro-corrugated cardboard box by using a more efficient pulp cardboard and by making the package more appealing through ascetic one color printing on uncoated cardboard and water dispersion varnish.
3rd prize – Beiersdorf Nivea gift pack series
VG Kvadra Pak met the highest quality requirements, both during the preparatory work and printing process. The Nivea Gift boxes are easy to use, but at the same time elegant and attractive because of the joyful festive mood they reflect.
